But the word pandemic has never been as relevant as it has in the first two quarters of the year 2020. Perhaps most have never come across the word except browsing through some dictionary. Surely we all have seen masks floating around in sectors such as healthcare, mining, heavy duty cleaning, fashion to mention few..
Thus, such hygiene was never considered a topic in many parts of the continent. One other topic that is never considered in conversations, is a gentleman struggle. The Table Hangouts - For Gentlemen has called an epidemic among gentlemen. This call has been avoided and always down played. Now the virus has affected our confidence, families and business, it has shown symptoms, now see disease at work, social, marriage and health in most gentlemen.
We are not sure where the misconception that men don’t talk originates from. Men talk, all the time. What it seems, at least in my circle of family and friends, the talks are around all the spheres with simple gentlemen rule(s) binding the topics. Our best bet is such that understanding the rules (said and unsaid) unleashes the power of openness, leading to honestly, driven logically, without attaching emotion to drive a fruitful conversation.
Society has always been tempted to compare these conversations with other species, women in particular. This is invertible, yesterday as we know it has changed, power shift and or balance is in progress, and there’s definitely positives there. What we cannot and should not do is to compare how people handle an event, context is key.
It is about time we quarantine such talks, misconceptions, face the base that accompanies the music that gentlemen face daily. Here at gentlemen Corner, our studio, we host a group of gentlemen, comfortably tackling men's real challenges, dealing directly with man’s greatest burden, his unfilled potential.
